Role Description The MERN Developer role at EgoTECHworld is a full-time position based in Geneva with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration and work-from-home flexibility. The developer will design, build, and maintain web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js, ensuring performance, security, and scalability. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing RESTful APIs, integrating front-end and back-end components, writing clean and testable code, and troubleshooting issues across the stack. The role involves collaborating with product and design teams, participating in code reviews, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices. The MERN Developer will also help optimize existing systems, support deployment processes, and stay current with industry trends and tools relevant to modern JavaScript development.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js, with experience building end-to-end MERN applications.
Solid understanding of JavaScript, ES6+, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end development practices.
Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON-based data exchange, and integrating front-end and back-end services.
Knowledge of version control tools (e.g., Git), collaborative development workflows, and basic CI/CD concepts.
Familiarity with application security, performance optimization, and responsive, cross-browser UI development.
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and testable code, with experience using unit and integration testing frameworks.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a hybrid, collaborative environment.
Effective communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or similar) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is an advantage.
