Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Rust Developer at EgoTECHworld. The Rust Developer will design, implement, and maintain performant and secure software services and tools using Rust, working closely with other engineers to build reliable backend systems and integrations. Daily responsibilities include writing clean and testable code, reviewing code from peers, optimizing applications for speed and safety, and troubleshooting issues in existing services. The role also involves collaborating on architectural decisions, contributing to documentation, and participating in agile ceremonies such as stand-ups and sprint planning. The developer will be expected to stay current with Rust ecosystem developments and propose improvements to tooling, development practices, and system design.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Rust programming and familiarity with its ecosystem (Cargo, crates, ownership and borrowing, concurrency).
Experience building backend services or systems programming solutions, including REST/GraphQL APIs or microservices.
Knowledge of software engineering best practices such as testing, debugging, code reviews, and version control (Git).
Understanding of networking, data structures, and performance optimization in modern distributed applications.
Comfort working with Linux-based environments, command-line tools, and basic DevOps workflows (CI/CD pipelines, containers are a plus).
Ability to collaborate effectively in a remote setting, communicate clearly, and document technical decisions and designs.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; experience with other languages (e.g., C/C++, Go, TypeScript) is a plus.
Interest in continuous learning, exploring new technologies, and contributing to technical discussions and knowledge sharing.
