Role Description The Software Developer in Test role is a full-time remote position focused on ensuring the reliability and quality of software products. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test scripts for back-end services and APIs. The role involves collaborating closely with developers and product teams to understand requirements, define test strategies, and identify edge cases and potential defects. The Software Developer in Test will analyze test results, debug issues, and contribute to improving development and deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines. This position also requires documenting test plans and outcomes, participating in code reviews, and continuously enhancing testing tools and methodologies.
Qualifications
Solid foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building and maintaining testable codebases.
Experience with Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and integration testing.
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their application in test automation.
Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, Selenium, or similar).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git) to integrate tests into the development workflow.
Knowledge of scripting or programming languages commonly used for test automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#).
Ability to analyze complex systems, define robust test cases, and clearly document findings and recommendations.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, distributed team.
