Role Description The Software Quality Assurance Engineer is a full-time, remote role responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products throughout the development lifecycle. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and executing manual test cases, documenting test results, tracking defects, and collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders. The role involves reviewing requirements and specifications for testability, participating in sprint planning and reviews, and contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes and standards. The Software Quality Assurance Engineer will also support regression testing, perform root cause analysis for defects, and help maintain clear, organized test documentation. This role is expected to work independently, communicate status and risks proactively, and contribute to delivering a stable, user-focused product. Qualifications Strong foundation in software quality principles, including Software Quality, Quality Assurance, and Software Quality Assurance practices. Hands-on experience with Manual Testing, including test case design, execution, and defect reporting. Familiarity with Software Development concepts and the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to collaborate effectively with engineering teams. Experience with test management and bug-tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, or similar) and basic understanding of version control systems. Ability to analyze requirements, identify edge cases, and translate them into clear, repeatable test scenarios. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and collaborate in a remote, distributed team. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with basic test automation, API testing, or performance testing is a plus.
