Role Description The MERN Developer will work full time in a remote capacity, building and maintaining web applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing RESTful APIs, developing responsive front-end components, and integrating frontend and backend services. The role involves writing clean, testable code, performing code reviews, debugging issues, and optimizing application performance. The MERN Developer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver secure, scalable features, follow best practices in version control, and contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement of the development process. Qualifications Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript for both frontend and backend development. Hands-on experience with React, Redux or similar state management, and modern UI libraries. Practical knowledge of Node.js and Express.js for building APIs and server-side logic. Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases, including schema design and query optimization. Familiarity with RESTful services, JSON-based APIs, and integration with third-party services. Understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility. Experience with Git or other version control tools and collaborative workflows (branches, pull requests). Ability to write unit and integration tests using tools such as Jest, Mocha, or similar frameworks. Knowledge of secure coding practices, authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth), and basic DevOps concepts. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting. Effective communication skills and experience collaborating in agile or iterative development environments. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience is beneficial.
