Role Description The Database Programmer is a full-time, remote role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database systems that support EgoTECHworld’s applications and services. This role involves writing and optimizing database code, creating and updating schemas, tables, and views, and ensuring data integrity and security. The Database Programmer will collaborate with software developers and other technical team members to integrate databases with applications, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement improvements. Daily tasks include reviewing requirements, preparing technical documentation, monitoring database performance, and participating in code reviews and planning sessions. Qualifications Strong skills in Database Design and Database Development to create efficient, scalable data structures and solutions. Experience with Data Management, including data modeling, data integrity, and data security practices. Proficiency in Programming (e.g., SQL, and at least one general-purpose language such as Python, Java, or C#) for database-related development. Knowledge of Database Administration tasks such as backup and recovery, performance tuning, and user access control. Experience with relational database systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle); familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus. Ability to analyze requirements, solve problems independently, and communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience working in remote, collaborative teams and using version control and project management tools.
