Role Description The C++ Expert will work full time in a remote capacity, designing, implementing, and optimizing C++ applications and system components. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented C++ code; reviewing and refactoring existing code; and collaborating with cross-functional teams (such as product, QA, and DevOps) to deliver reliable software solutions. The role involves debugging complex issues, improving performance, ensuring code quality through unit and integration tests, and participating in architectural discussions. The C++ Expert will also contribute to technical documentation, mentor less experienced developers, and stay up to date with modern C++ standards and best practices to enhance the overall development process.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in modern C++ (e.g., C++11 and above), including object-oriented design and familiarity with standard libraries such as STL.
Experience with software engineering practices, including version control (e.g., Git), testing frameworks, code reviews, and continuous integration workflows.
Knowledge of systems programming concepts such as memory management, multithreading, performance optimization, and debugging tools.
Ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams, with clear communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.
Experience with related technologies or ecosystems, such as Linux development, CMake or other build systems, and basic networking or OS concepts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Proven track record of delivering production-quality C++ software and a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and methodologies.
