Role Description The Java Software Developer is a full-time remote role responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications and services. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, efficient code, implementing and optimizing microservices, and using the Spring Framework to build scalable back-end components. The developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, participate in code reviews, and contribute to architecture and technical design discussions. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving issues, improving system performance, writing unit and integration tests, and documenting technical solutions. The role also involves staying current with industry best practices and contributing ideas to enhance the overall technology stack.
Qualifications
Strong programming foundation with hands-on experience in Java and general Software Development principles.
Practical experience building and maintaining Microservices using the Spring Framework or similar Java frameworks.
Ability to design, implement, test, and debug back-end services, APIs, and integrations in a distributed environment.
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git), RESTful services, and basic database concepts (SQL or NoSQL).
Good understanding of software development lifecycle, agile methodologies, and collaborative development practices.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
