Role Description The Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Business Analyst is a full-time, remote role responsible for analyzing, designing, and supporting EDI solutions that meet business and technical requirements. This role involves gathering and documenting business requirements, translating them into functional specifications, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure EDI processes align with operational objectives. The analyst will review and troubleshoot EDI data flows, coordinate with technical teams on system integration and configuration, and perform root-cause analysis for data or process issues. Daily activities include monitoring transaction performance, validating data accuracy, preparing reports on EDI metrics, and recommending improvements to workflows and systems. The role also requires clear communication with internal and external partners, maintaining documentation, and contributing to best practices and standards for EDI and business analysis.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify patterns, and solve complex process issues.
Candidates should possess expertise in Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), including EDI standards, transaction sets, and data mapping.
Candidates should possess Business Analysis and Business Requirements skills to gather, document, and translate needs into actionable specifications.
Candidates should possess Systems Analysis skills to understand system integrations, workflows, and technical constraints related to EDI solutions.
Relevant skills such as proficiency with EDI tools or platforms, understanding of APIs or integration technologies, and familiarity with common data formats (e.g., XML, JSON) are beneficial.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment and coordinate across cross-functional teams.
Experience in IT, supply chain, finance, healthcare, or similar domains where EDI is commonly used is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
