Role Description The Data Specialist is a full-time, remote role responsible for collecting, organizing, and interpreting data to support business decisions and technology initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and cleaning datasets, performing data analysis, and building data models that help identify patterns, trends, and opportunities. The role involves maintaining data quality and integrity, creating clear reports and dashboards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data requirements. The Data Specialist will also assist in improving data management processes, documenting methodologies, and ensuring that data is used responsibly and effectively across the organization. Qualifications Strong data analysis and data analytics skills to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights. Solid data management capabilities, including organizing, cleaning, and maintaining accurate and secure data repositories. Experience with data modeling to design structures that support efficient reporting and business intelligence. Proficiency in tools and languages commonly used for data work (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python or R, BI platforms). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and data accuracy. Clear written and verbal communication skills to explain findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage priorities, and meet deadlines. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience with cloud-based data tools or platforms is beneficial, as is familiarity with technology or IT services environments.
