Role Description The Assistant Software Engineer is a full-time remote role focused on supporting the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and back-end services. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, well-documented code, implementing object-oriented programming concepts, and assisting in the development of web APIs and server-side logic. The role involves troubleshooting and debugging issues, participating in code reviews, and collaborating with senior engineers to improve system performance and reliability. The Assistant Software Engineer will also help with technical documentation, follow best practices in version control, and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes. Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles. Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript). Knowledge of Back-End Web Development and building or maintaining server-side applications, APIs, and database integrations. Ability to apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts in designing and implementing modular, maintainable code. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows. Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a remote environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills and willingness to learn from feedback and mentorship.
